Welcome Interns Week #1

Veterans Memorial at Crown Hill Cemetery Orrville Ohio

Welcome to Orrville, Ohio! Every community is unique. No other small city in the world is quite like Orrville. Its difference comes from its particular blending of geography, history, and human personality. We're a small community by population, but our thinking and industriousness are on a large scale. The Citizens of Orrville are very supportive of their schools, businesses, and civic organizations.  The City of Orrville's distinctive quality of life is exemplified by its sense of Community, Faith, Educational & Employment Opportunities, and Pride.

Orrville's greatest resource is and will continue to be our people. We come together in an active partnership to foster academic, cultural and economic opportunities to cultivate a safe, vibrant and healthy community for our citizens and organizations.  This is the 'Orrville Way.'

Memorial Day is honored and those who gave their lives in service to our country are remembered in Orrville. This week take a look for American flags lining the streets of Orrville in the business district and residential neighborhoods.  These flags are donated by businesses and residents as part of the Orrville Rotary Club's Parade of Flags.

Field of Honor recognizes police, fire fighters and veterans for keeping our community safe.  This display is coordinated by the Orrville Exchange Club and can be seen on the South side of Orrville Fire Station #2 on Crown Hill Road, next to Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorial Day Procession will be held on Monday, May 28 at 9am.  Starting downtown at the Orrville American Legion on E Market, the procession will continue west all the way to Crown Hill Rd, turning right, proceeding north and crossing over W High St to the third entrance drive to Crown Hill Cemetery (next to Fire Station #2).  The procession will end at the Veterans' Memorial, where a service will begin at 10am.  In the case of inclement weather, the service will be held across the street at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Not in town on Monday, May 28 for the Procession?  You may visit the Veteran's Memorial at Crown Hill Cemetery anytime.

Civic organizations are an important part of the Orrville community.  The Orrville Rotary Club and the Exchange Club of Orrville invite interns to be their guests at one of their weekly lunch meetings this summer. Attend a lunch meeting to connect with local business and community leaders, learn more about the organization and services they provide in the community.  Just click the link to express your interest in attending a meeting of one or both groups.
