STOLLER SHARES HIS SCORE JOURNEY

For the past twelve weeks, participants met at the Orrville Area Chamber office for the Akron SCORE Positioning Your Business for Growth workshop.

Alternating between workshops and one-on-one mentoring the participants established their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threads or “S.W.O.T”, they set goals and learned how they can grow their business in a sustainable way. 

 “We had actual homework”, remarked Ken Stoller of Stoller Lawn & Garden. “Even though it may not sound appealing, it made you follow through with your set goals and the program made a bigger impact on my business because of it.” 

Stoller signed up to initially work on fine-tuning their business model but came out with more than he expected. 

“I have never had formal business training and even though twelve weeks sounds like a big commitment, the program with SCORE was well worth my time”, commented Stoller. “It would definitely be a helpful program for any new business or even established business like ours.” 

The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Akron SCORE to bring this program to the Orrville area and hopes to make it an annual offering. A business does not have to be a member of the Orrville Area Chamber to participate and there is no charge for the workshop, only a small fee to cover the cost of materials.
