The challenges of 2020 were many, but they did not dampen the entrepreneurial spirit.  The evidence of this is clear among the first businesses to join the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce (OACC) as new members at the start of 2021.

“I remember back in Feb (2020) sitting down and thinking that I should start detailing cars again as a side business,” stated Ryan Santangelo, owner Polished2Perfection Automotive Detailing. “Little did I know that I would be able to service over 60 vehicles per month!  My only regret is not doing this sooner.”

Polished2Perfection opened a service facility at 320 Sterling Ave, Orrville, serving over 300 customers in 2020.

Jamie Keyes, a certified personal coach, launched Keyes to Growth, a motivational life and career coaching business who found the isolation and uncertainty of COVID restrictions was an ideal entry point for her services.

“I want to help people that are struggling and need guidance,” stated Keyes. “I want to support the woman that needs it when the fear and self-doubt creeps in.  I want to be the person that helps you see your worth and how truly unique you are.”

Another entrepreneur that found the pandemic as the right entry point was Krista Dean Michener, a board-certified nurse practitioner, who opened Affordable Healthcare Partners, 2056 Portage Road, Wooster.  This self-pay clinic offers convenient and cost-effective primary care for adults and teens.

Additional new members of the OACC include: J&CO Hair Studio, Sterling Candle Company, Ohio Outdoor, Gordon Flesch Company, Zen Business, Junior Achievement of N Central Ohio and Akron SCORE.

“The Chamber has embraced technology amidst the pandemic to connect members through virtual roundtable discussions, educational webinars and online member forums,” stated Lori Reinbolt, Chamber president & CEO. “We are committed to developing personal relationships with our members, listening to their needs and connecting them to the resources that will be most beneficial.”

The OACC is an essential resource for the business community offering a value-based membership investment structure to provide organizations of all sizes affordable access to the Chamber’s network of resources and services.
