Staying connected during the State of Ohio’s Stay at Home Order has required organizations to be innovative and to embrace technology like Zoom video conferencing. On May 1, a virtual roundtable was hosted by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce for Marketing professionals.

“The intent of the roundtable is to provide Chamber members an opportunity to interface with colleagues, exchange ideas, troubleshoot issues and provide support for each other,” stated Stacey Barrett, Events and Operations Coordinator.

The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce is focused on being an essential resource for their members. The roundtable discussion format emerged in popularity among members over the past year. Last fall, the Chamber introduced a Marketing Roundtable in addition to the previously established Human Resource Roundtable.

“Taking the roundtable to Zoom was an experiment,” commented Lori Reinbolt, Chamber president. “The response from our members exceeded our expectations. It was a great experience and we will do more of these.”

WRL Advertising executives provided a short presentation on the topic of staying in touch with clients and customers during this challenging time. They shared insights on marketing best practices, strategizing your message, social media marketing and brand awareness. Tips on how to maximize exposure on Google with SEO techniques were also shared.
Participants then had an opportunity to ask questions and dialogue with the WRL team.

Expert T’s sponsored the Roundtable event. Joe Kennedy, owner of Expert T’s, shared examples with the group about how his company had tried new marketing strategies and product recommendations to stay connected with customers over the past few weeks.

Event sponsorship would cover the cost of refreshments when roundtables are held in person. As an alternative for the virtual format, eGift Cards to Sure House Coffee Roasting Company were distributed to the 23 participants.

“Everyone needs a coffee break,” stated Reinbolt. “Our local coffee houses need our business and the Chamber was glad to support Sure House in this way.”

Connecting Communities. Expanding Possibilities. The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce promotes active engagement among their network of more than 300 members. Learn more at www.orrvillechamber.com
