The Christian Children’s Home of Ohio and Rails to Trails of Wayne County are Recipients of the Annual Product Donation Program

Orrville, Ohio - Ventrac, a division of The Toro Company in partnership with The Toro Foundation, announces the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio (CCHO) and Rails to Trails of Wayne County are recipients of the Annual Product Donation Program.

CCHO received a 72” wide Toro Zero Turn mower, which will significantly increase their efficiency in maintaining their 20+ acre campus. Ross Butzer, Groundskeeper for CCHO, estimates that this new mower should reduce his mowing time by nearly 5 hours per week, allowing him to invest time into other projects around their campus.

Located just north of Wooster, CCHO provides a safe, structured environment to meet the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of children from across Ohio who have been abused, neglected, and traumatized by people they should be able to trust most. Children ages 6-18 live in spacious cottages and are provided with therapeutic, social, spiritual and educational resources to help them recover and thrive.

Rails to Trails of Wayne County received a Ventrac 4520P tractor with a brush mower and leaf blower. This tractor will allow the grounds crews to maintain the verge of the trail and help aid in keeping the trail safe by blowing debris and leaves off the path.

Rails to Trails of Wayne County is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, developing, and converting unused railroad and greenway corridors into multi-purpose, non-motorized, public paths. Comprised of local volunteers with common interests in enjoying trails in many different forms, including bicycling, walking, running, rollerblading, and horseback riding, they promote and inspire movement for all in the community.

This is the second year that Ventrac and the Toro Foundation have donated Toro products to the community. CCHO and Rails to Trails were selected based on specific need requests while also reinforcing the partnership Ventrac has with local communities. Ventrac General Manager, Randy Kitzmiller said, “All Ventrac Tractors and Attachments are manufactured here in Northeast Ohio. Local support and brand loyalty help provide hundreds of jobs in our community. We’re proud Northeast Ohio is our hometown, and the Annual Product Donation Program is another way we give back to our community each year.”

The Toro Company has long been committed to helping its customers and industries worldwide care for their outdoor environments.
