The COVID-19 public health crisis has impacted everyone in our community. All have made sacrifices, but those that have donned the cape and stepped up as essential workers deserve to be recognized for their continued service during this time when so many have been required to stay at home.

“These workers have been asked to put their own health and safety at risk in order to serve the public that depend on them for basic essential needs like healthcare and groceries,” commented Lori Reinbolt, president, Orrville Area Chamber.

As a public expression of appreciation, the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Orrville Area Safety Council and the City of Orrville, distributed notes of thanks and posted signs throughout the community.

Mayor Handwerk personally placed more than 30 signs in Orrville. “We just want to thank all of our essential workers for keeping us in operation and keeping us feed and safe,” stated Handwerk. “You are all awesome! “

Kind notes of acknowledgement have been received since the signs were posted April 22.
“Thanks for taking time to recognize our wonderful teammates,” shared Mike Davidson, VP Operations, Buehler’s Fresh Foods. “Done with class!”

“My staff greatly appreciates the support,” stated Lauren Fiser, Administrator, Orrville Pointe.
While it was not possible to place signs on the property of every business or organization that has been providing essential services during this time, the intent is that those that see them will be reminded that their efforts are appreciated.
