The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce (OACC) is pleased to recognize Jarrett Companies as the recipient of the 2019 Community Impact Award.

“We thrive when we are working together to live out our values and help those in need. We know that the moment that we stop caring about those around us is the moment that we stop being Jarrett,” stated TJ Dalenberg, Senior HR Coordinator.

Civic Responsibility is a one of the core values that are representative of Jarrett’s unique culture. The company defines Civic Responsibility as, “To give back to our communities by donating our time, talents, energy and resources to worthwhile causes in our communities and society.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized with the Community Impact Award,” responded Dalenberg upon learning that Jarrett was selected. “It’s rewarding to see that our core values, Civic Responsibility, is displayed so evidently in each of our employees’ lives. Thank you to all our community partners who allow us the opportunity and privilege to give back.”

The Community Impact Award honors an OACC member business or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the community in the past year (2019). The Community Impact Award acknowledges the effort and time commitment of the contribution rather than the dollar value of a donation. The intent is to recognize those businesses that step outside of their daily work to make a difference in the community where they work.

In 2018, Jarrett took their partnerships with Orrville Salvation Army Maiwurm Service Center beyond support for the annual canned food drive by holding Civic Responsibility Day. Employees, including summer interns, completed various service projects at the Center. After seeing the success of this event, the service opportunity was expanded company wide. One day each month employees volunteer to pack meals for local area children. In addition, during the holiday season, Jarrett employees “adopted” children through the Make a Wish program with Wayne County Children Services.
A new initiative, “Jeans Day for Charity”, was launched in 2019 to raise funds for charities such as the Gary Sinise Foundation, Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Fisher House Foundation. On the first Friday of each month an employee can participate by donating $3.00 if they choose to wear jeans that day. Jarrett matches all the monies raises, dollar for dollar. Through this program almost $4,000 was raised in 2019.

Caring for their employees is a direct way that Jarrett lives out their core values. Managers work directly with each of their employees to provide growth and development opportunities and the ability to grow and thrive in a career path.

Jarrett’s wellness program is a popular initiative which offers full time employees the opportunity to bank dollars in a wellness account by meeting seven different wellness goals each year.

Jarrett Companies is a privately held, family-owned company headquartered in Orrville, Ohio since 1998. Jarrett’s corporate culture is driven by instilling their core values into their employees not only at work, but also in the community.

Jarrett will be recognized at the Annual Chamber Dinner & Awards Celebration on March 26, 2020. For more information on the event and registration visit www.orrvillechamber.com.
