BIKES DONATED TO KIDS SAFETY PROGRAMS
Submitted by Orrville Chamber on Tue, 06/11/2019 - 2:03pm

Local Safetyville (Orrville) and Safetyvillage (Dalton) programs have been a rite of passage for upcoming Kindergarteners in the area for the past 20 years.

Three new Big Flyer tricycles along with supplies for the set up of the safety course were donated by the Orrville Area Safety Council (OASC) for the 2019 programs.

“I greatly appreciate this generous donation from the Orrville Area Safety Council and their support of this valuable program.” stated Julie Nussbaum, Safetyville & Safetyvillage Coordinator.

In addition, OASC steering committee members Dave Speicher, Aultman Orrville Sports & Wellness, and Steven Penrod, P.Graham Dunn, instructed participants on bike safety. The participants learned about the importance of wearing a bike helmet, inspecting their bikes for problems and how to signal to cars when needing to make a turn on the street.

The Orrville Area Safety Council, a program of the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce and Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Comp, provides safety resources for local businesses through a monthly lunch and learn program. If your business is interested in becoming a member of Safety Council please contact Stacey, at safety@orrvillechamber.com or by phone at 330-682-8881, ext. 51.
