CHAMBER GATHERING 'GOOD FOR THE SOUL'

THE FOG HUNG HEAVY OVER THE LAKE, BUT HEARTS WERE LIGHT AS MEMBERS OF THE ORRVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE GATHERED FOR A COFFEE CONNECTIONS (C3) OUTDOOR NETWORKING EVENT AT P. GRAHAM DUNN ON SEPTEMBER 10.

This was the first in person event for Orrville Area Chamber members since February. The Chamber partnered with The Village of Dalton, The Dutch Kitchen and P. Graham Dunn to co-host the event. 

“One member greeted me by stating that gathering in-person was good for the soul and I agree,” remarked Dave Hershey, Chamber Board Chairman. “The Board saw this event as a positive step forward, a threshold to a more promising outlook.”

The Chamber Board of Directors enthusiastically supported the in-person gathering as an opportunity to encourage resilient member businesses and to help members reconnect with each other.

The lake at P. Graham Dunn provided attendees the opportunity to reconnect while observing social distancing. The Dutch Kitchen served coffee and many attendees supported the locally owned restaurant and bakery by purchasing pastries to take back to their offices. 

The Chamber further promoted the Rally Around Restaurants and Retail Campaign by arranging for the P. Graham Dunn Retail shop to open early for members.

Safety protocols as outlined by the Ohio Department of Health were observed including acceptance of the in-person event acknowledgement by each attendee, face coverings and social distancing.

Ray McConnell, CCO for Tilmor, LLC, joined the Chamber earlier this year. “The Chamber was a trusted source of information during the height of COVID. I’m glad to have an opportunity to get out and connect with other members.”
