Orrville Area Young Professionals Learn to Invest in Their Future

The Orrville Area Young Professionals (OAYP) hosted an Investing in Your Future workshop on Friday, February 25 at Jarrett Logistics Routing Center. Area presenters included Kristen Kiko, Kiko Realtors, Auctioneers & Advisors, Steve Lorson, Lorson Financial LLC, and Justin Haislip, State Farm Insurance. 

The workshop focused on first time home buying, investment properties, investments, and protecting your assets. 

“I really enjoyed the recent YP event. I learned a lot about how to invest in myself for my personal life which will benefit me daily at work as well,” said Lindsey Baumgartner, manager, Orrville YMCA. “The discussion pushed me to looking into what I am doing now with my finances and how I can better prepare for my future and for my family.” 

"It was great to see a room full of young people eager to learn about what life may throw them next whether it be opportunity or threat,” commented Steve Lorson. “The best part of the workshop was participant interaction and questions on hot topics,” said Lorson. “It is nice to know where Centennials and Millennials stand on some otherwise traditional and long-standing topics." 

“The speakers were very knowledgeable and engaging on the topics,” said Bryan Troyer of Moog. “I liked the informal, workshop type of feel the event had. It was great that we could ask questions while they presented. Very educational and inspiring!” 

Upcoming OAYP workshops will focus on Preventing Burnout and Managing a Healthy Work/Life Balance, Attracting and Retaining Talent: For You and Your Team, and Successful Career Survival Guide. The next OAYP workshop, Preventing Burnout and Managing a Healthy Work/Life Balance, will be held May 13.
