Wayne Center for the Arts Receives Greenspace Enhancement Grant

Oct 31, 2023

ORRVILLE, Ohio (October 31, 2023) – Dedicated to revitalizing outdoor spaces in the communities where employees live and work, Ventrac, American Augers, Trencor and The Toro Company Foundation are pleased to announce the Wayne Center for the Arts is receiving a $10,000 grant as part of the Greenspace Enhancement Grant Program. Representatives from Ventrac, Trencor and American Augers attended Wayne Center Dance’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” performance on Friday, October 20th to present the organization with the award.

Each year through The Toro Company Foundation’s philanthropic initiative, Land. Water. Thrive., the company supports nonprofits and public agencies worldwide by providing financial grants to revitalize parks and green spaces, enrich outdoor environments of local neighborhoods and schools, educate on the efficient use of water, and support sustainable agriculture through community gardens and other projects.

Wayne Center for the Arts plans to utilize the grant to revitalize a neglected outdoor area in the Wooster community and create an Art Park open for public enjoyment. The refurbished area will include a Harmony Garden with native plants, a resurfaced basketball court with a mural curated by local artists, and an outdoor amphitheater. The Harmony Garden will blend the beauty of music and nature for all to enjoy – featuring outdoor musical instruments and native wildflowers filled with color and texture. The updated space will inspire creative play while promoting relaxation, environmental quality and neighborhood beautification.

“We are so excited to support the Wayne Center for the Arts and revitalize this outdoor space for our community members to enjoy,” said Isaac Roth, Director, Marketing at Ventrac. “The project reflects our purpose to enrich the beauty, productivity and sustainability of the land while creating safe, functional spaces where our communities can thrive.”

"We are so pleased that The Toro Company Foundation is investing in this project and the rehabilitation of this neighborhood asset,” said Sara Brink, Executive Director at Wayne Center for the Arts. “Improving this greenspace for residents and visitors alike will provide an enriching space for play, education, and connection."
