The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Networking Empowers Women (N.E.W.) Roundtable was held on February 10 at the Dutch Kitchen in Dalton.  A discussion on the topic of Authentic Leadership was facilitated by Cindy Biggs.

“I like these small group settings and learning from others.” commented Loni Weaver, Edwards Jones Financial.  “I found out it's one of my strengths (The Gallup Clifton Strengths)!”

Biggs started the one-hour roundtable discussion with the premise that authentic leadership is about presence, living in the moment with conviction and confidence, while staying true to yourself.

Biggs is an accomplished certified leadership and executive coach, trainer, and mentor with 25 years of experience. Her consulting firm, C. Biggs and Associates, specializes in leadership and supervisor development, strengths-based leadership, and emotional intelligence.

The fifteen women present learned about the four domains of team strength, which are Executing, Strategic Thinking, Influencing, and Relationship Building. According to Gallup’s latest research, the 34 Clifton StrengthsFinder themes naturally cluster into these four domains of strength.

“My goal for 2022 is to spend time with these and build upon them both professionally and personally,” shared Weaver.  “I agree with Cindy Biggs in that we do our best work when we use our strengths and truly understand them.”

The Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce invites women interested in networking with other women in leadership positions for personal and professional development to participate in the N.E.W.

“Participating in a N.E.W. roundtable is like getting a micro infusion of networking, coaching, and professional development all wrapped up in one engaging hour, “said Kim Sayers, OSU CFAES Wooster Campus. “There is value for everyone attending, those still charting their career path and those who’ve navigated more bumps and roadblocks than others.”
